St. Elizabeth Greek Orthodox Church of Gainesville announces the annual George and Stavroula Sarantos Scholarship awards. Under the Program, two (2) $2,500 annual scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance, character and community service.

Program Guidelines & Priorities

• Seeking Eastern Orthodox students who are members of St. Elizabeth Greek Orthodox Church of Gainesville, Florida, or attend college in Alachua County, Florida.
• Applicants must plan to attend a two (2)-year community college, four (4)-year college/university or be obtaining a postgraduate degree.
• Scholarship funds will be paid during the month of August 2022. The scholarship funds will be issued to the college or university upon receiving a certificate of enrollment for the fall semester, which includes the Student ID number and Financial Aid Office address.
• Your Scholarship Application must be submitted online no later than April 9, 2022. Late applications will not be accepted. 
• Additional materials should be emailed to scholarship@gnvorthodox.com by April 9, 2022. This includes your transcript and two (2) letters of recommendation (one from a teacher or advisor; the other from a leader of a volunteer organization you have served).
